'Jon Jon' started his Karate career in 1993 and for a while studied under a Japanese Master, he achieved his 1st Dan in 1999 and in 2000 he was entered for the EKGB national second team. 'Jon Jon' has always been a keen competitor and his list of competition fights and wins is extensive.

After acheiving his first Dan in Karate 'Jon Jon' discovered Ju Jitsu and set out to become an expert in locks and ground work. Six years later he was awarded his 2nd Dan in Goshin Ju Jitsu.

His vast knowledge and expertise at ground work has led to his selection as the Light-Weight Team Member for the England Sports Ju Jitsu Squad for Las Vegas WCJJO 2010 World Championships
