Here are some answers to the most common questions that we get asked
Q, What ages do you take children from?
A, We take children from 6 years of age as at this age their attention span allows us to teach them properly.
Q, What age do children move up to the adults class?
A, This varies depending on the size and ability of the child, with the parents consent this can be from 12 up to 15
Q, Do I need to have studied another martial art before I start Ju Jitsu?
A, No, it does help but it is not necessary, we can teach you from zero knowledge right up to black belt
Q, Do I need to be fit to start training?
A, No. Our warm and training can be quite intense but you are never expected to keep up with the rest of the class, you should pace yourself to your level of fitness which will increase as you continue to train.
Q, Can I train if I have an injury?
A, Yes, it is possible to continue training with an injury but this must be made clear to the instructors prior to training, and it is your responsibility to only do exercises which will not make your injury worse. e.g. if you have a bad wrist, and wrist locks should be avoided.
Q, How old can I be when I start?
A, You can start at any age, from 6 right up to 60, our Cheif Instructor is 45 and still competing at World Class level.
Q, How far can i go in Ju Jitsu?
A, The sky is the limit! We can grade you locally up to 4th Dan and nationally up to 7th Dan. We currently have 5 students who are in the England Sport Ju Jitsu Squad and have recently competed and won many medals at the 2010 World Championships in Las Vegas!
